...ahhh, if it were only that easy! I have my top favorites, for sure - but I also have not had the pleasure of trying them ALL. Great mission to have, though! Thanks to the Cape Cod St. Patrick's Day Parade, I'm back at it!
One glimpse of the Lobster Roll Cruises float and suddenly I wasn’t thinking about March anymore - I was thinking about sunshine on the water, summer breezes, and that very specific Cape Cod craving for a really good lobster roll.

There’s just something about lobster on the Cape. Maybe it’s because it feels a little celebratory, a little nostalgic, and completely tied to being near the water. It’s the whole experience: a picnic table, a harbor view, a paper tray, maybe a few fries on the side, and that feeling that nowhere does it quite like Cape Cod.
And if you’ve ever taken a ride on the Lobster Boat Cruise, you know that’s part of the magic too. We’ve been on it multiple times, and every time, I come away loving it just as much.
So for this month’s Cape Escape, I’m leaning all the way in: lobster rolls, lobster boats, and a few of the Cape places that make this little daydream so easy.

A lobster roll is one of those foods that instantly says summer on the Cape.
It’s:
A little indulgent, in the best way
Tied to the water, the docks, and the fishing culture that’s part of Cape life
The kind of meal that turns into a memory because of where you ate it
One of those “you just have to get one while you’re here” Cape traditions

Seeing the Lobster Roll Cruise in the parade was such a fun reminder of one of those uniquely Cape experiences.
If you haven’t done it, it’s one of those outings that feels like “this is exactly why I love Cape Cod.”
Being out on the water is always good for the soul, but there’s something extra fun about an experience that connects so directly to the Cape’s fishing heritage. It’s the kind of experience I’d recommend both to visitors and to locals who just want one of those classic Cape days that reminds you not to rush through the season.

The Lobster Roll Cruise operates out of Sesuit Harbor in Dennis, and an experience not to be missed. If you’re planning summer now, this is exactly the kind of outing worth putting on your list. (Not a fan of being on the water? Enjoy the lobster roll at their waterside Sesuit Harbor Cafe!)

Sesuit Harbor Cafe as seen from the parking lot entrance, and the bustling summer luncheon scene as viewed from the Lobster Roll Cruise.
Of course, one of the best things about Cape Cod is that everyone has their favorite lobster roll spot - and people are very loyal about it.
I always love hearing other's opinions on where the best one is, because every recommendation usually comes with a story:
“We stop there every summer.”
“That’s our first lunch when we get over the bridge.”
“It was so good I still think about it in winter.”
And honestly? I get it.
I came across a video online of a chef striving to make his lobster roll "better than anyone else". I was riveted. And promptly got in my car to get one. Check out the VIDEO for yourself, and see if you, too, end up making a bee line to The Clam Man in Brewster.
Another one of my faves can be found at The Seafood Shanty on the canal, where you can enjoy a massive lobster roll with a great view...

Summer will be here before we know it, and this feels like the perfect time to start making a little mental list of all the Cape classics we want to get back to.
And now I want to know:
Are you team warm butter or team mayo?
And where’s your favorite place to get a lobster roll on Cape Cod?
