Meet Pam Chmielinski - The "Cape Cod Rock Wrapper"

For Pam Chmielinski, a lifelong connection to Cape Cod since the 1960s informs both her real estate work with Sotheby's International Realty and her unique artistic calling. While she is a trusted real estate associate serving the upper and mid-Cape areas, Pam is also known by her creative moniker, "The Cape Cod Rock Wrapper." This artistic path, a classical singer's turn to wrapping rocks, emerged 2.5 years ago. A search for creative fulfillment led her to a picture of a wrapped rock, igniting a curiosity that evolved into a fascinating art form and a vibrant second career.

Pam’s exceptional talent is evident in the tiniest details. I visited her at her home where she creates these stunning works of art. Talking all things rocks, Cape Cod hidden gems and real estate, we had a delightful conversation over an outstanding Italian-café-worthy cappuccino. Seriously, this woman’s talents are endless.

I loved watching her work, and listening to her stories of church singing, excursions finding the perfect beach rocks, celebrating Monarch butterflies and European jaunts.

All of these life experiences are channeled into her wrapped rocks, each holding significant and profound life philosophies. They are deeply meaningful, endlessly creative and each wrap is perfectly attuned to the specific rock they adorn.

The great news? You can see them in person if you’re here on the Cape. They are available to purchase in Dennis (Cape Cod Museum of Art) and Falmouth (Holiday Market Nov 22-Dec 24).  And if you’re not here? You can see and purchase them online directly from Pam. (All the info included in links below!)

I loved hearing about Pam’s connection to Cape Cod and what the Cape means to her. In her own words:

Does your work or passion intersect with Cape Cod’s natural beauty, community, or history - and if so, how?

Each of my meticulously crafted pieces blends the raw elegance of natural stones from Cape Cod & New England shores with the creative touch of expert wrapping techniques.  I visit specific beaches all over the cape.  Of course, I am always checking the tides because some beaches do not allow you to glean their shores of the perfect rocks at high tide.

What does Cape Cod mean to you personally?

Summering on the Cape during my childhood brings back fond memories of summer friendships, swimming, boating, summer jobs, new friends, sunny and carefree days.

Why did you choose this particular t-shirt? Whether it's a favorite beach, a meaningful town, or a “Most Likely To” that made you laugh - what drew you to this design?

I chose “For the love of Cape Cod because I think this is one of the best places to live.  I have traveled extensively overseas and every time I come back home, I feel grateful that I live in such a beautiful place.  Also, I love the ocean and the smell of the sea air.

What’s one place on the Cape that always brings you a sense of peace or joy?

The ocean.  I do not have any special place.  I love all the beaches and being close to the water.

Do you have any favorite local businesses, artists, or causes you’d like to shout out? Let’s lift up others who are making waves in our community.

Valley Farm Community Garden in Pocasset. They grow vegetables for the Bourne Food Pantry. We also have the “Monarch Butterfly Day” in its 3rd year to promote pollinator gardens. For without the pollinators, we would not have any food.

Bourne Historical Society. They run the Aptucxet Trading Post Museums and promote numerous events throughout the year and school tours of the museums.

Bourne Council on Aging: Have numerous free programs for elder adults.

Cape Cod Museum of Art, Dennis. They have wonderful ongoing exhibits year-round, concerts on Sundays, an outdoor statue exhibit and gardens, etc…here you can see my rocks in their gift shop for sale. I am also in a one-day show on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

What’s something about Cape Cod you’d want others to experience, something that never gets old for you?

A drive down Rt. 6A.  My husband and I take a trip at least once a month (not during the summer months) down the King’s Hwy, stop in Brewster to the Hopkins House Bakery and gift shop for coffee and a pastry and browse thru the gift shop. Then onto Wellfleet, our favorite stomping grounds and stop for lunch at the Bookstore Restaurant.

What are you most excited about right now - personally or professionally? Give us a glimpse of what’s lighting you up these days.

Firstly, I just closed on a 4.4-million-dollar property.

Secondly, the Falmouth Art Center Holiday show is up on November 22, 2025, and will be open up until Dec. 24 in which I am one of the artists.

Thirdly, I am spending time with my family in Germany over the Christmas holiday.
